Are you passionate about supporting and guiding Mechanical Engineering apprentices to achieve their full potential and succeed in their learning journey?

We are excited to offer this opportunity for a supportive, knowledgeable, and apprentice focused Mechanical Engineering Development Coach to join our team.

As a Mechanical Engineering Development Coach, you will play a vital role in shaping the next generation of engineering talent across West Berkshire. Working directly with apprentices who are already employed in mechanical engineering roles, you will guide, support and challenge them as they work towards their Apprenticeship Standard. This is a highly rewarding position where you will help learners develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to succeed in an industry that is driving innovation, solving real world problems, and shaping the future of engineering.

You will work closely with employers, industry specialists and internal teams to deliver high quality training, assessment and apprenticeship guidance. Blending structured teaching, skills coaching and workplace visits, you will ensure that each apprentice receives a tailored learning journey that meets both industry expectations and their employer’s needs. Drawing upon current engineering practices, you will help apprentices link theory to hands on application, supporting them to grow in confidence and capability as they work towards completing their End Point Assessment. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about engineering, committed to learner success, and excited to make a direct impact on the development of the future workforce.

We are looking for someone who is:

• ⚙️ Experienced in mechanical engineering and able to translate real world practice into effective learning.

• 🗣️ A confident communicator who can build strong relationships with apprentices and employers.

• 🗂️ Organised and reliable, able to manage a caseload, plan visits, and maintain accurate records.

• 🤝 Supportive and learner focused, committed to helping apprentices progress and achieve.

• 📋 Detail driven and compliant, ensuring training plans and assessments meet apprenticeship standards.

📚 Committed to ongoing professional development and staying current with industry expectations.
