Line Cook / Teaching Assistant

Hours: 37 Hours per week / 38 Weeks per year ( Subject to change to include August working)

Salary: £18,463 Actual (£22,245 FTE)

Do you want to join our expanding catering department and support the team in making a positive impact to students education

We are delighted to offer this exciting new role in our onsite refectory.

As a line cook/teaching assistant you will play a key part in supporting the Bistro service leader in the running of the college refectory. You will assist with the production of food and support with the teaching of the Level 1 -3 Programmes to students creating a realistic working environment to help students understand the Catering world. You will:

• Lead on cooking duties linked to the college refectory. Including Planning, preparing and initiating the menu.

• Support the delivery of the culinary teaching programmes.

• Create a real working environment through the effective and efficient running of the college refectory.

• Support the curriculum team in the completion of activities that ensure the kitchen runs smoothly in line with the required standards of a working kitchen in both the training and refectory kitchen areas.

Criteria

Essential criteria:

• Level 2 qualification in subject area including cookery

• Coaching and mentoring qualifications or willing to work towards

• Experience of working in an educational setting
