Engineering Lecturer - Sessional

• 💰Salary: £35.66 per hour

• 📄Contract: Fixed Term until July 2027

• 🕒Hours: 18 hours per week / 37 weeks per year

• 🕒Working pattern: Tuesday and Thursday

• 📍Location: Newbury College Campus

Are you passionate about inspiring the next generation of engineers? We are excited to offer this opportunity for an experienced and engaging Engineering Lecturer to join our University Centre Newbury team.

About the role:

As an Engineering Lecturer within University Centre Newbury, you will play an important part in delivering our higher education Engineering programmes and supporting students throughout their studies. You will deliver engaging teaching, assess and verify students’ work, monitor their progress and ensure they receive the support they need to succeed. You will help students develop their engineering knowledge and skills while maintaining accurate course documentation, assessment schedules and teaching records.

Alongside teaching, you will contribute to the organisation and ongoing development of our Engineering provision, ensuring programmes meet university, validation and awarding body requirements. You will work closely with university partners, employers and other stakeholders, contribute to quality assurance processes and support activities such as student interviews, open days and promotional events. This is a great opportunity to bring your engineering expertise into higher education and help prepare students for their next steps within the industry or further study.

We are looking for someone who is:

• An experienced Engineering professional with a strong knowledge of the subject. 

• An engaging and confident lecturer who can inspire and support higher education students. 

• A strong communicator, comfortable working with students, colleagues, employers and external partners. 

• Organised and proactive, with strong administrative and classroom management skills. 

• Qualified to Level 7 in a relevant subject, with teaching experience. 

• Passionate about helping students develop their skills, achieve their goals and progress within Engineering.
